EU: Planned updates of the Cybersecurity Act
The EU Commission has announced its initiative to update the Cybersecurity Act.
The initiative will update the Cybersecurity Act, refine the role of the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), and enhance the European Cybersecurity Certification Framework to strengthen overall resilience. Additionally, it seeks to streamline, simplify, and complement EU legislation, making the implementation of the cybersecurity framework more accessible for businesses and users. A key focus will be on supporting the EU’s goal of establishing a secure and resilient supply chain, including bolstering the EU cybersecurity industrial base.
A public consultation should be launched in the coming weeks.
